Medellín is known as the City of Eternal Spring: the average temperature is about 22 °C (72 °F), and it usually stays between 17 and 28 °C (63–82 °F). That makes it one of the few places where you can plan a garden wedding in almost any month. It’s also a city used to international weddings: around 40% of weddings in Antioquia and on the Caribbean coast involve international or binational couples, according to industry figures reported by Portafolio in 2026.
Below you’ll find Medellín wedding venues and planners from the LOVIA directory, plus tips on weather, getting there and the legal side.

A planner in Medellín books the venue and vendors, handles contracts in Spanish, plans guest transportation into the hills and runs the day. Some work in English and some only in Spanish, so ask in your first message. Also ask what’s included, how vendor payments work, and how they plan for rain at an outdoor venue.

Medellín is mild all year, but rain can come in any season. For an outdoor ceremony, ask the venue for a covered plan B or a tent. In the higher areas, like Santa Elena and the Rionegro plateau, nights get cold: ask whether there’s an enclosed room or patio heaters, and tell guests to pack a jacket.
ProColombia lists December, November, March and August as high season for destination weddings in Colombia. If your date falls then, book the venue first and the rest of your team right after. Before signing, ask how long the drive is for your guests, whether there’s parking, and what time the music has to stop.
Foreigners can marry in a civil ceremony before a Colombian notary with passports, apostilled birth certificates, proof of single status and official Spanish translations. Notaries set some rules of their own, such as how recent the documents must be or whether one partner has to live in the city. Requirements can change; confirm with the notary before booking flights.
Many couples marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony in Medellín. See the document list in our destination wedding guide.
